First, I want to thank you for releasing Lost Souls even though previous Earth games didn't sell to well.

As for my request, how about posting the Lost Souls intro movie on the Earth site? I think it is impressive, and a little promotion will do no harm smile.gif.

Do you ever read anything on your own boards?

I just want to say that you're right Earthnuker, about that they don't promote anything. I mean noone know's the game if I ask to someone, and that is a shame of such great game. If they did, the Earth serie will sell much more. But Zuxxez there is still a change to promote Earth : Lost Souls or Earth 2160 if that one will be released. Because if people will buy that game they will perhaps also buy the previous releases. And Skynet, I thing they are indite more interesing in the German message board because... well just look at the Lost Souls credits.

Since Zuxxez doesn't care about these boards...nothing will stand in my way of total domination!

Mwuhahahahahahahahahaha >)

We do not want to realese the video on the website, because it is part of the product.

What is he getting at?

I'm in an agreement with [ZUXXEZ] Raidor, because they could have put thousands of dollars in making the intro. And putting the intro on the website isn't a good way to promote the game. Because people will only go to the Earth page if they know the game. So, you must start with letting people know the game with other kinds of promotions.

I regurally recommend the game at other forums, and so far I have convinced a mere 2 people to buy the game once they see it in stores. Meaning that I already did more promotion than Zuxxez themselves!

Good one Earthnuker :D. More promotions than that they ever did. Promoting on other forums is a good idea. They can also put a little commercial on other game sites. Or put the game in game magazines, however they did that or someone did that 4 them. I buyed the game because it was in a game magazine. You can also put a little commercial in a game magazine. It works, I falled many times 4 that. smile.gif

THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS???

[spits out beverage all over computer, causing minor electrocution]

For a render ani? Get me a few hundred bucks, I'm going to Germany!!

Seriously- unless they used a good half a dozen actors or summat, it's highly unlikely. We pixel pushers get paid shit unless we're LightWave gods or summat (and even then, to a certain degree), and sound editors seem to make even less. It still wouldn't be the best way to promote, but that wouldn't be why.

I suspect it was someone else who placed LS in that magazine. I don't read game magazines very often. I bought it because I was familiar with Earth and TMP but if I was new to it and saw it in stores I would absolutely have had no reason to buy it, unless somebody recommended it to me.

I also bought Lost Souls because I like Earth 2150 and TMP. The first Earth I bought was Earth 2150 because it was in a game magazine. First I saw the game in the game magazine and then I downloaded the demo and than I bought it.

I noticed a Earth 2150 review in a game magazine (a long time ago). That was the only promotion I ever saw (and Topware probably didn't even ask for them to post a review in that magazine).

Bought Earth almost entirely at random. Can't say I really ever saw any real advertisement. I think what caught my interest was that it was practically the only full-3D RTS at the time. That won't be a selling point again, so I dunno about all this business about not advertising.

Unfortunately, there's very little that would stand out in an ad, special effects and good plot being the main things that draw ad interest, and the Earth series being gradually outpaced in the first and never too hot as far as the second one went.

it's interesting though, how much do you think they advertise in Europe? They dont care about us "Americas" for some dumbazz reasons beyond me, and when you think about it, TMP could be ranked as one of the best RTS games to date. Very sad though, very sad...
